Download of Standard Java-Soundbank "minimal"

For playing the sound correctly with Java-Applets from Opartandmore you need the Standard Java-Soundbank with the preset instruments as Add-on in your Java Plug-in. This soundbank must be part of the directory for audio in the Java Runtime Environment JRE. With WINDOWS you will find this directory generally as subdirectory for programs:

C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\lib\audio

You have to copy the Standard Java-Soundbank "minimal" called soundbank-min.gm (0,35 MB) into this subdirectory of Program Files. The notation jre6 may vary with other versions of the JRE. The following steps are recommended:

1. Download the Soundbank

The Soundbank "minimal" can be downloaded from the producer Oracle out of the Sun Developer Network (SDN) without any fees. The download dataset should be stored on your directory for downloads:

Download from SDN

2. Unzip the Soundbank

The soundbank from SDN is downloaded in a zipped shape. You have to unzip this dataset. There are several programs for unzipping in the internet (for example the free software 7-Zip). If you do not have any own unzip software then you have to install one of these programs.

3. Store the Soundbank

While unzipping the soundbank from your download directory you should use the audio directory of your Java Plug-in as a target:

 C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\lib\audio

Now your soundbank ist ready for using it as Add-on within your Plug-in for Java Applets. Usually your PC must not be restarted.
