Video
The videos in the style of Op Art contain sequences of Java applets with
variable graphics based on mathematical and algorithmic structures in connection with vector operations,
whereby the applets are allowed to determine
within a given bandwidth the
image structures by themselves.
Some of the Op Art works on opartandmore were created as an inspiration after visiting exhibitions of Bridget Riley's works at the
Kunsthalle Düsseldorf and the
Kaiser-Wilhelm Museum in Krefeld.
The basis of these applets are the mathematical structures and geometric arrangements contained in the works of Bridget Riley.
However, for security reasons, most browsers no longer support calling Java applets. Call up Java-Applets.

Video from May 2021 with an Interactive Art Applet from 2000

Interactive Internet animation in the artistic style of a Pin Ball Machine by means of a matrix structure in connection with variable vector operations.
Free discs then mutate into rod-shaped bacteria and then into variable discs on planet-like orbits, before the original view is restored.
The video is also a reminiscence of the rock group The Who with their song Pinball Wizard from 1969.

The artwork was originally created as an interactive art project in 2000 that could already be "played" over the Internet using any browser that supports
Java applets. For security reasons, only a few browser types now allow the original work to be played. The video here was recorded in 2021 and
shows parts of this artwork.

Concentric
Arranged variable image elements with 2 shades of green. Each pixel
is subjected to blurring by superposition with neighboring pixels.
The partially visible arrangement of the connections between the circles is based on the work "Blaze 4" by Briget Riley (1964).

The video is reminiscent of the so-called magic eye of the radios of the 1950s.

Concentrically arranged and
connected quadrilaterals are shifted circularly symmetrically and presented
with alternating color groups.

The
sequence consists of individual cubes that are connected to each other and can
"multiply" by doubling and can also "die" again. Small
cubes are put together to form a structure that looks more and more like a larger cube.
The arrangement of the cubes and their movements
correspond to Lissajous curves.
The sequence symbolically represents the duplication of DNA.

Applet from 2000 (1:00 min)
The basic structure of triangles, laid out in the form of a matrix with connected column elements
based on the work "Shiver" by Bridget Riley is increasingly changed by algorithmic variation of the single
individual triangles and columns. Colors and color overlays are
are used after selection by this algorithm. The changes of the single
triangles were algorithmically adapted to each other horizontally and especially vertically in such a way
so that coherent movements result.
